Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
The long trunk door has a moulded edge and conforming panelled base. The hood has brass inlaid columns and a smart set of matching finials.

The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a nicely painted dial with matching hands, subsidiary seconds and date dials. The phases of the moon are displayed to the arch.
The case is in good unrestored condition but does have the odd minor knock and veneer chip comenserate with age and use.
The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.
