The possibly associated brass dial and movement has a signature plaque within the arch, lion and unicorn spandrels a subsidiary seconds hand and a date window. The 8 day movement strikes the hour on a bell. The clock is signed "Smoult and Gilbertson Newcastle". They are listed as a partnership in the mid C18th Century, the case style indicates a later date
