Small Mahogany Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

A small solid mahogany cased longcase clock. The traditional break-arch top hood has turned side columns with brass capitals, a long door, panelled base and bracket feet. The brass dial has a silvered Tempus Fugit (latin-Time Flies) disc in the arch, cherub and dolphin spandrels and a subsidiary seconds hand and silvered chapter ring.The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a gong. (England, c. 1880)

Current Condition

The clock is very original. The dial has been professionally cleaned, the case re-polished and the movement serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
