Henry Jacot Striking French Carriage Clock

19th century
Description

Hi

I have for sale a small but and heavy 1890s French striking carriage clock, the case and the movement have been fully restored so keeping good time via the original silvered and jewelled escapement.

The back plate is signed H.Jacot with the parrot in the cage stamp.

The clock comes with a key.

This clock was made in France around the 1890s and is a very heavy carriage clock all fully restored with new springs added.

The clock is signed on the backplate by Jacot.

The Case

The case is in solid brass and stands 15cm high x 7.5cm wide with a depth of 7cm it is in perfect condition with a mint bevelled top viewing glass.

The case is in its original condition very shiny so hard to photograph they do not do the clock justice at all.

The ordinal numbered base plate is still with the clock as is the key.

The Dial

The dial is in original condition in white enamel with Roman numerals and retains its original black ornate hands again in original condition.

The Movement

The movement is an eight-day time and strike which strikes the hours and halves on a sweet gong to the rear, the movement has been fully ultrasonic cleaned and re-built then serviced and oiled so keeping good time over the eight days running via the silvered jewelled platform escapement.

Overall a beautiful quality carriage clock by a quality French maker that looks beautiful on display and contains all of its original features this is quite a rare find these days, a real quality carriage clock.

I will ship worldwide and pack very carefully.
