French Gilt Metal and Porcelain Mantel Clock

19th century
Description

A gilt metal mantel clock, having a Louis XVI style case, with inset porcelain panels ,columns and an urn, depicting C18th Century rural scenes and floral decoration. The dial has a typical cupid image. The case is stamped on the reverse by the well known case maker and designer for Japy Frere "PH Mounay". The 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a bell. c.1880

Dimensions (excluding removable base)

23.00cm wide 39.00cm high 12.00cm deep (9.06 inches wide 15.35 inches high 4.72 inches deep)

Current Condition

The case has been cleaned, but retains its original gilding. The movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months (our professional servicing includes cleaning, any necessary bushing, pivot polishing, testing and timing)
