Georgian glassware from the 18th century is characterised by lead glass composition, handmade pontil marks, and distinct stem formations such as air twists, opaque twists, and faceted cuts.

These glasses were typically crafted from lead crystal, which allowed craftsmen to draw out long, thin stems and form intricate internal optical threads without breaking.

Authenticity is assessed by examining the pontil scar on the underside of the foot, the weight and greyish hue of the lead metal, and the hand-pulled formation of the stem.

Antique stemware can be displayed within glass-fronted cabinets, utilized on a bar cart for special occasions, or styled on a dining table to add historical texture.

Antique glass should be washed strictly by hand in lukewarm water using mild detergent, avoiding sudden temperature changes and dishwashers to prevent thermal shock or surface abrasion.
