A rare 13th century turquoise glaze vase from the Kashan region of Persia (Iran).

A great example of the turquoise the Kashan region is associated with. Kashan is a region famed for its rugs but also has a strong associate with ceramics. Kashan began producing stoneware with tin glazing from the mid 12th century.

The flared rim decorated with inverted chevrons, to a double line with hand painted abstract ''tree of life'' motif.

Overall condition good with one 1cm rim chip and various glaze flaking consummate with age.
