George III Country Oak Moon Dial Longcase Clock

Description

A lovely little country clock in nice un-restored original condition. It has an attractive painted dial displaying the phases of the moon to the arch. The dial is signed by the maker James Webb of Frome Somerset. He is listed as working there from 1760 – 1814.

The oak case is in nice untouched condition but as you would expect after 200 years it has the usual signs of age.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and is in good working order and keeping excelent time(moon and date in full working order).

The maximum dimensions are:

48cm (19“) wide

213cm (84“) high

21cm (9.5“) deep
