FAQs

A pianochello stool is a specialised seating item historically designed for cellists or musicians requiring a specific lean and support while playing, often featuring an adjustable height mechanism and a backrest rail.

These pieces typically utilise cast or tubular brass frameworks combined with upholstered seats, often featuring internal threading mechanisms for height adjustment.

Authenticity is determined by examining the patina of the metal, the method of mechanical joints, hand-stitched upholstery techniques, and the wear patterns consistent with age.

This type of seating works effectively as a distinctive accent piece in a study, music room, or living space, adding metallic texture and historical interest.

Maintain the piece by dusting the brass gently without harsh chemical polishes to preserve the patina, and vacuum the upholstery regularly using a soft brush attachment.
