Description

A mid-Victorian mantel with figured walnut veneers. The rectangular case has step front moldings . It has a white enamel dial with a bevel edge glass. The French made 8 day pendulum movement strikes the hours and halves on a bell and is stamped by the maker/wholesaler J B Delettrez 62 Rue Charlot. The Delletrez family were important French clockmakers of the 19th Century and are well documented on Wikipedia.
