French Boulle Mantel Clock

19th century
Description

A French Boulle work waisted mantel clock in Louis XVI th Style. The case is veneered with tortoiseshell and inlaid with brass. It has ornate applied brass castings in the form of acanthus leaves and fruit. It has a pendulum window below the dial, which has white enamal numeral plaques and a convex glass .The 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a gong is stamped by the maker AD Mougin. (France, c. 1880)

Current Condition

The case has been professionally restored, the brass is lacquerd to stop tarnish. The movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months

When required antiques are sympathetically cared for in our own specialist workshops where priority is giving to retention of original features and characteristics of the item. We have a high street shop in historic Beaconsfield old town where you are welcome you visit

Furniture is delivered either by ourselves or specialist antique carriers and we have facilities for worldwide packing and shipping and send off several consignments every week.

We have our own on-site workshops where we carry out specialist restoration work to clock movements, clock dials, cases and furniture cabinet work including French polishing.

Our shop is well worth a visit if you are interested in any aspect of our business.

Our shop hours are: 9.30 to 5.30 Tuesday to Friday and 10-5 on Saturday we are closed Sunday and Monday but can be available by appointment
