Arundel Clocks has dated this piece to the 1890s.
The Case:
Crafted from rosewood, stands 18 high x 11” wide with a depth of 5.5”.
The dial surround is decorated with an intricate gilded flower detail. The case door to the rear also has a lock.
The Dial:
In good condition. The white is still fresh and clean looking and the original gilt cupid's arrow hands are still present. The numbering is in Roman numerals the whole dial looks great neatly set into the shimmering case.
The Movement:
An eight-day with time and strikes on an outside count wheel, striking a bell for each hour and half hour and a solid brass bob pendulum. The movement was fully serviced two months ago so is keeping accurate time over eight days.
