Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The 8-day movement is of “A” frame construction, retaining its original verge movement and fixed “bob” pendulum, whilst the good 10-inch diameter engraved and silvered dial is signed by the maker: Benj Simkin, London. A fine, pretty and rare example, circa 1785-1795. 12.5ins wide; 5.5ins deep (31.75 x 14cms)
