Arundel Clocks has dated this piece to the 1890s.
Its aged appearance adds to its character. The clock was directly purchased from its previous owner. having owned it for over 50 years. It meant that much to him, he left the clock with handwritten instructions for its running and maintenance.
The Case
In solid mahogany and stands 19” in height x 15width x 6" in depth. It is in good original condition well waxed and polished over the years, a really nice colour. The clock has an opening side and bottom door and to the top is a steel hanging bracket. The keys for both doors and for winding are present.
The Dial
In original condition, 12” across, painted white with Roman numerals and covered by glass in a heavy cast brass bezel.
The Movement
An eight-day time-only Fusee. It is a thick plated heavy built movement with thick pillars and a very fine crutch, a sign of a top quality old movement I have fully restored the movement, added a new spring, ultrasonically cleaned every part and it is now running strongly, keeping good time over the eight days via the original Fusee chain. She also retains her original brass pendulum.
