Scottish Georgian Longcase Clock, Fantastic Condition

Clockwise is delighted to present to you this wonderfully Scottish mahogany eight day longcase clock signed ''Samuel Ritchie, Forfar'' who was recorded as working in the High Street in Forfar in 1837.
 
This lovely East coast piece has a wonderful case standing on bracket feet with boxwood inlay and bands of beech offsetting the sumptuous mahogany. The 7 feet tall case has quarter round reeded columns with matching reeded columns to the hood and brass capitals. The hood has a swan neck top, all original brassware and inlaid panels of satin birch with viewing windows to each side panel. The case is a gorgeous original colour and patination. The dial is delightful with each corner displaying a lady depicting one season and the top displaying a Scottish clan leader and horse-mounted soldiers with foot soldiers in the background.
