Clockwise has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The 7 feet tall case has quarter round reeded columns with matching reeded columns to the hood and brass capitals. The hood has a swan neck top, all original brassware and inlaid panels of satin birch with viewing windows to each side panel. The case is a gorgeous original colour and patination. The dial is delightful with each corner displaying a lady depicting one season and the top displaying a Scottish clan leader and horse-mounted soldiers with foot soldiers in the background. Signed by the maker and with a subsidiary seconds and working date dial this dial is a very impressive feature. The movement is of eight day duration with a rack strike and has just been refurbished fully with new lines fitted and comes with my standard three year guarantee.
