Late 18th Cent Scottish Oak Longcase Long Case Grandfather Clock

Description

An elegant, slim cased longcase clock by the Scottish maker James Lawder of Prestonpans, Scotland. The movement is signed on the dial and dated 1792.

The case is in oak and is of typical 18th Cent Scottish design with with a very slim trunk and fretwork panels to the hood. It has a smart swan kneck pedement with brass patria.

The good quality 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a very attractive painted dial. It has a subsidiary seconds and date dials.

The movement is in good working order but is a bit dusty. The case is in good restored condition.

The maximum dimensions are:

215cm (84.5") high

50cm (19.5") wide

26cm (10") deep
