Description

A Georgian London mantel / carriage clock with a fine quality watch mechanism. An English fusee lever mechansim with finely engraved backplate signed 'George Purse 487, Strand' with a diamond endstone. A brass case with engine turned silvered dial.

George Purse of London is recorded in Baillies' 'Clockmaker and Watchmakers of The World' book as working from 1804-1815.
