Henri Jacot - Carriage Clock Timepiece - 19th Century

Description

A fine quality 8-day CARRIAGE CLOCK TIMEPIECE by Henri Jacot (the famous Parisian clockmaker). This clock is in a large (7ins tall, with handle up) Corniche case and retains its original gilding.

The clock is stamped to the backplate with the Jacot trademark stamp and is numbered 10256. The 8-day movement retains its original platform lever escapement. The painted enamel dial is in perfect condition as are the blued steel 'moon' hands. The dial has 'diamond' quarter markers and 'dot' 5-minute markers.

Sold in perfect working order - It comes complete with its original and impressive leather travel case, and a key (not original).

Dated: c.1880-1900.
