A Good French Engraved Brass 4-Glass Mantel Clock with Mercury Weighted Pendulum

Description

A good French engraved brass 4-glass Mantel Clock with mercury weighted pendulum and visible escapement to the front. Standing 9.5 inches tall this is an imposing clock. Eight day movement, striking hours and half-hours on an off-set bell, with mercury pendulum. The 2-piece enamelled dial features roman numerals and blued steel 'moon' hands.

The case features both front and rear opening doors, the front to enable deadbeat and time adjustment plus winding. The brass work to all sides, including the top, is ornately engraved with foliage, fleur-de-Lys and hatched borders.

Serial Number 6991 with a star emblem makers-logo stamped 'UF' BREVETE S.G.D.G. onto the rear backplate. Retailed by Henry Mar.... (undecipherable), Paris. (painted on dial above the VI).

Sold in perfect working order with 12 month guarantee. Complete with original key.
