A beautiful, quality boudoir clock of Boulle work in the Rococo style.
Mounts are typical of the style with stylised acanthus leaves, 'c' scrolls, shells and also feature beautifully designed stylised dragons to the shoulders and an elaborate asymmetric finial of leaves. The red veneer has mellowed to a lovely antique colour with plenty of character.
The front of the clock is glazed to allow the pendulum to be seen swinging within the case. It is the original ormolu sunburst pendulum featuring the sun god Mithras.
The dial is enamel on copper with a separate Arabic minute ring and is convex and lightly sculptured. It is complete with the original blued steel hands.
The German movement is by Berger & Würker, Katharinen Str. 22, Leipzig, Germany. It is of top quality with shouldered square plates, Vulliamy type dead-beat escapement and rack striking. It is in excellent clean and running condition having been fully overhauled and tested by our clockmaker. Ormolu pendulum is original. It runs for 8 days on one wind and strikes the hours and halves on a coiled gong. Click the video clip below this description to see the clock running and striking!

Condition of the case is excellent with clean and bright finish. Boulle work is excellent, there are only a couple of very minor losses to the red veneer or brass and some very minor marks. The dial is also excellent with just some faint hairlining. Ormolu is excellent, bright and clean and no losses.
Complete with original pendulum and a suitable key. Full setting up instructions supplied if required. A beautiful clock to add to your collection
