Exceptional Antique Musical Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

A most impressive musical longcase clock that chimes the quarters on 8 bells and strikes the hours on a further bell.

The beautifully proportioned case is veneered in wonderful quality flame mahogany with fine gilt cast brass mounts. The hood and trunk have bold corinthian capitals and at the top of the hood are beautiful ball and flame finials.

The 8 day 3 train movement has a well engraved silvered dial. It has recently been overhauled and is in good working order.

The maximum dimensions are:

231cm(91") high (excluding top finial + 13cm)

56cm(22") wide

29cm(11.5") deep
