Cavers Antiques has dated this Elizabethan Carved Oak Court Cupboard to the 16th Century.
Circa 1580/1600.

From my research, it was in a Scottish castle that was demolished in the 1950s.
It was sold by auction in the 1950s and remained in the same family for many years before coming to auction again in the early 2000s.

Made from English oak, the tree would be about 300 years old when downed to make furniture, meaning the wood is about 800 years old.
This is a very heavy and strong piece of furniture.
6 feet 2 inches wide.
5 feet 8 inches tall.
2 feet deep.
