An Intriguing 20th century take on an early bracket clock design this extremely high quality clock by Luxor of Switzerland was originally retailled by Asprey. The striking black marble and gilded brass case has an exaggerated carrying handle above a pierced and engraved dial with Roman chapter around a renaissance style grotesque design.

The eight day movement with platform escapement, strikes on a bell, made audible through a beautifully pierced and engraved sound vent backed in yellow silk.

These clocks were retailed by some of the most highly regarded jewellers of the 20th century including Aspreys in London and Tiffany’s in New York, other identical examples have been found signed by Cartier who presumably bought the model from Luxor. This is a flamboyant example of mid 20th century design and craftsmanship at its best.

This clock comes with an associated period presentation box as well as out 2 year guarantee.
