Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

George III furniture, originating in 18th-century Britain, is defined by classical proportions, symmetry, and high-quality timber such as mahogany. Common details include flame mahogany veneers, moulded pediments, bracket feet, and refined brass hardware.

Pieces from this era typically feature hand-cut dovetail joints on drawers, secondary timbers such as oak or pine for internal drawer linings, panelled cabinet backboards, and hand-cast brass handles with threaded posts.

Authentic period cabinetry shows subtle timber shrinkage along panel seams, hand-planed surfaces on unexposed rear boards, uneven hand-cut dovetails, and natural oxidisation on internal wood surfaces and brass fittings.

This versatile piece serves as a statement storage unit in formal dining rooms, living rooms, or home libraries. The concealed upper shelves allow for dust-free storage, while the lower drawers provide functional organisation alongside contemporary decor.

Dust regularly using a dry, lint-free microfibre cloth and apply a high-grade beeswax polish annually along the grain. Keep the item away from direct heat sources, air conditioning, and direct sunlight to prevent timber movement and finish fading.
