Description
Figured Mahogany Gothic inlaid case, resting on brass ball feet. The dial, signed by the clockmaker: "John Lindsey, London". With cast brass bezel to convex glass. Enamel white dial with Roman numeral with blued steel hands; pendulum with holdfast and adjustable calibrated brass pendulum rod. The clock comes with a winding key and bezel key. The movement with twin fusees, with anchor escapement, striking on a bell. The back plate with an engraved border. John Lindsey of London is listed in Baillie's ’ ‘Watchmakers and Clockmakers of the World' as working 1808-1820. Measurements: 51cm high, 29. 5cm wide, 16cm deep.
