Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.

The 8 day, 5 pillar movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive brass dial. It has a silvered chapter ring, gilt brass spandrels, subsidiary seconds dial and date indicator.
The case is in good condition and has marks and ware consistent with age and use. There is a small chip to the top left hand corner of the trunk door. There are some additions to the cheeks of the case to position the movement but they look to be historic and are held in place with old nails.

The movement is a little dusty but is in good working order and keeping good time
