Description

A lovely little Scottish longcase clock by George Hood of Galashields, Scotland. He is listed as working there in the mid 19th Cent.

The excelent quality case is veneered is beautifuly figured mahogany, is a lovely colour and retained its original finish.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has an attractive painted dial showing ruined castles. It has subsidiary date and seconds dials.

The case is in good condition with only minor marks associated with age and use. There is a repair ro one of the rear feet. There is also a small crack to the glass on one corner of the hood door

The movement looks to have been recently serviced, is in good condition and keeping good time.
