William IV Mahogany Bracket Clock by John Peterkin

Description

A very good quality English figured mahogany chamfer top bracket or table clock with ebony mouldings, brass string inlay, inset corner panels with brass moulded edges to the front stood on brass ball feet. The clock has fish scale sound frets and decorative floral leaf brass ring carrying handles to the side of the case.

The clock has an eight inch painted dish dial with the makers name:-

The movement is a five pillar, twin fusee, eight day on chain with pull repeat action, strike - silent mechanism, top pendulum adjustment and holdfast. The clock strikes the hours on a gong and has the makers name engraved on the back plate.

John Peterkin is recorded as working at 25 Cleveland Street, London from 1810 – 1840.

The clock movement has been cleaned and serviced and comes with a 12 month guarantee.
