Quarter Chiming Miniature Longcase by Sinclair Harding

1940 - 1960
Description

A quarter chiming Miniature longcase clock by Sinclair Harding. This extremely high quality three train 8 day longcase movement chimes on a nest of cast bells, the movement can chime either Whittington or Westminster chimes, striking the hours on a separate bell, with strike/silent function. Made by one of the last great english clock makers working in a traditional manner.

The case is made of Honduran mahogany with box stringing, Doric columns flanking the the dial door, the highly polished dial with cherub spandrels, silver chapter ring subsidiary seconds and strike silent dials, with finely cut blued steel hands, wonderfully proportioned and reliable longcase clock that would fit into any home.

Sinclair Harding honours the historical tradition of fine English clockmaking. With its range of beautiful hand crafted clocks, this unique company embraces the horological industry’s ideals for precision, quality and perfection.

Sinclair Harding’s craftsmen work hard to study and preserve original production techniques. The exquisite detail of each clock is testament to this skill and dedication, with every delicate stage of production carried out in the Yorkshire based workshop.

Sinclair Harding’s valued clients range from private collectors to high class jewellers, and include prestigious commissions such as the design and manufacture of a 3 train chiming movement with a solid silver engraved dial for David Linley and Company’s magnificent Blenheim Bureau.
