George Flashman is recorded as a clockmaker in Fleet Street 1790-1815, this handsome flame mahogany bracket clock has a two train movement striking on the hour, a silvered and gilt dial below a blue star scape with an inverted bell top, decorative pineapples, a brass carrying handle and stands on gilt brass ogee feet.

Inspiration for "Harry Flashman" of the George Macdonald Fraser books perhaps? !!
