Description

An early repeater alarm carriage clock made by Alliez & Berguer Paris (signed on movement) of smaller than average size, striking on a bell in a one piece cast case. Dating from pre 1859. The case in original condition with original gilding still mostly intact with an unblemished particularly fine and crisp white enamel dial. This clock has its original fully jewelled silvered platform with a neat and rare tail to the fork. Still with original Moroccan leather travelling case.

The case is inscribed “Isabella Jessop from William Jessop 1st March 1859” on the base so could have been a wedding gift or love token originally.
