Description
A superb quality 19th Cent Regulator. It dates from around 1840 and is by Seagood, London. The case is in highly figured mahogany that is a lovely colour. To the top has a brass ball finial The high quality regulator movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a smart silvered dial with fine steel hands and large subsidiary seconds dial. It has 5 pillars and thick shaped plates. As a regulator it has a dead beat escapement with Harrison maintaining power. The very heavy pendulum has fine beat adjustment, wooden pendulum rod and a calibrated regulating nut. The case is in excellent unrestored condition and has retained its original finish. The movement looks to have been recently serviced and as you would expect is keeping very good time (few second/day) The maximum dimensions are: 211cm (83") high excl finial (13cm) 49cm (19.25") wide 24cm (9.5") deep Free local delivery and set up (100mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost.
