Clockwise has dated this piece to the Victorian era.

Flanking this window are carved floral 'ears'. The case houses a side door for inspection of the movement and a lower locking case door which fits perfectly. The twelve inch dial is housed by a glazed brass bezel and the dial is in excellent condition. The movement has just enjoyed a full overhaul and comes with my two year guarantee as standard. There are several repairer's marks on the movement of 1857, 1867 and 1881 so whilst it is difficult to determine which Brooke made this clock it can safely be dated to circa 1840. Being of medium size but in excellent condition this piece really will look good in any location.

Rather than trusting a courier of any sort I recommend collection or I can deliver regionally/nationally. I do use Royal Mail as a courier and post nationally so this tracked and insured service is available, please enquire for a quote. All antique clocks require delicate handling and specific setting up so it is far better for a dealer to meet a client and talk them through the process, or set the clock up for them, rather than leave the client struggling at the other end on their own but this redoubtable clock will be straightforward to set up for the client. I am always available for a video chat should there be any problems.
