Description

A fine mahogany and brass inlaid bracket clock dating to the Georgian Period. It has a chamfer top surmounted by a brass pineapple. The front panel has brass edged inset quadrants and ball feet. The sides have floral swag side handles and silk lined fishscale fret panels. To the rear is a glazed door revealing the engraved backplate of the twin fusee 8 day movement that strikes the hours on a bell. The convex dial is signed by the original maker, James Murray of Royal Exchange, London, listed as a maker of great repute c 1815
