19th Cent Mahogany Longcase Clock

Description

A pretty little longcase clock by Robert Morris of Shrewsbury. He is listed as working there from 1790 to 1821. The case is in mahogany,

The good quality 8 day movement has a most attractive painted dial with subsidiary seconds and date dials.

The case is in unrestored condition and has retained its original finish and is a lovely colour. It has a repaired shrinkage crack to the base and an extensive repair to the moulding under the hood. However this said it presents quite well.

The movement is in good working order and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

213cm (84") high excl finial (13cm)

52cm (20.5") wide

24cm (9.5") deep
