Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1900s.
We have sold many, many clocks in this style of case but with spring driven movements.
However, I have never seen a combination of the two. This is a totally original, authentic and genuine clock, signed by the maker and perfect in every respect.
The honey coloured oak case is beautifully polished and has a lovely warm, rich patina. It has a convex glass to the dial and bevelled glass to the lower half of the case.
The 8 day, weight driven movement strikes on the half-hour and the hour. Importantly, it strikes on a steel rod and has a beautifully crisp, resonating tone. It has just been fully overhauled by our BHI registered staff and carries our usual 12mths full parts and labour guarantee. It is clearly signed with the GUSTAV BECKER logo.
The 8" silvered dial has black Arabic numerals and spade hands. The brass weights and pendulum are in excellent condition and the clock has it's original cranked winding key. (Always a good sign that a clock has been well cared for from new).
