Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 19th Century.
It has a good quality architechtural case with nice figured mahogany panels.
The fine quality movement strikes the hours on a bell.
It also has a finelly constructed gridiron temperature compensating pendulum with fine beat adjustment and unusual stirup regulation to the large heavy lenticular bob.
The movement has brass cased weights suspended on large spoked pulleys. The silvered and engraved dial has a large subsidiary seconds dial and very fine blued steel arrow hands. At 12 o'clock there is a strike/silent selector.
The case is in excelent restored condition with no obvious defects. The movement is in good running order and as you would expect keeping good time, currently 1 to 2 seconds a day!!
