Mahogany Moon Roller Longcase Clock

19th century
Description

A mahogany cased moon roller longcase clock of good proportions. The break arch top case has a wavy edge pediment with three brass finials, and side pilasters. The long trunk door has a matching arch door and the base has a fielded base. The white enamel dial displays the lunar cycle within the arch, with a subsidiary seconds and date dial. The dial is signed by the maker C. Smyth, Saxmundham. The 8 day bell striking movement has an anchor escapement c.1820

Current Condition

The case is in good condition, with some internal repairs to the base section/plinth. The dial has been professionally cleaned and the movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.
