Description

An impressive French Napoleon III serpentine shaped boulle red coloured tortoise shell and engraved brass inlaid mantel clock in the Louis XV style. The clock has a scrolling floral leaf design throughout and very good quality scrolling foliate bronze gilt ormolu mounts surmounted by cockerel.

The clock has a 5 inch cartouche dial with white enamel Roman numerals and a French eight day movement which strikes the hours and half hours on a gong.

The back plate is stamped with the makers name:-
