Description

A superb quality French Napoleon III brass and gilt mantel clock with four bevelled glass edged sides. The clock has delicately pierced fretted panels with Greek key, anthemion and floral design with four decorative columns to the corners finished with finals and adorned with urn to the top.

The clock has a silvered dial with Roman numerals and a pierced brass scrolling leaf centre with a French eight day movement which strikes the hours and half hours on a gong with compensating pendulum.

The movement back plate is stamped with the makers name:-
