Mahogany Drop Dial Wall Clock

Description

A mahogany cased drop dial wall clock, having a 12" dial, brass bezel and etched glass pendulum window. It has an 8 day pendulum timepiece movement. c.1880.

These clocks were made in New England in the latter part of the 19th Century to compete with the English clockmaking business, and had the same appearance, but were made on a much larger scale and hence acheived lower prices. It has to be noted that the majority of similar English clocks are of a higher quality, which is reflected in their values today

37.50cm wide 53.00cm high 13.00cm deep (14.76 inches wide 20.87 inches high 5.12 inches deep)

Current Condition

The case retains its original finish, the movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months. (our professional servicing includes cleaning, any necessary bushing, pivot polishing, testing and timing)
