Clockwise has dated this piece to the 1850s.
The restored eight day fusee movement strikes the full hours on a great-sounding bell and the case, similarly restored, looks gorgeous now. There are two side doors to the case and one working lower door complete with original key and lock. There is also a stabilising hook to each of the lower case flanks. The dial has been deliberately left unrestored as it is in a lovely overall condition. There really are fewer of these clocks around than ever so don't hesitate with this well priced beautiful piece of furniture.
