19th Cent Fusee Bracket Clock

19th century
Description

A smart mahogany bracket clock by Thomas Moreland of Chester. He is listed as working there from 1834 to 1848.

The architectural style case is in nicely figured mahogany with brass inlay. It has retained its original carrying handles to the sides and stands on its original engraved ball feet. It also has smart fish scale side grills with blue silk backing

The 8 day fusee movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a convex painted dial with its original fine steel moon hands.

The case is in good unrestored condition and is a lovely colour. There are some minor veneer chips around the base and the side grills. There is also a fine shrinkage to the front but all the brass inlay is present.

The movement is in good condition, running well and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

51cm (20") high

29cm (11.5") wide

15cm (6") deep

Free local delivery and set up (40mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost.
