Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.
The oak case has mahogany cross banding and nice quality reeded quarter columns to the trunk. The hood has turned columns and an elegant swan neck pediment.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive convex painted dial. In each corner are paintings showing the four seasons and in the arch the phases of the moon.
The mechanism that operates the moon dial is also missing as is the second hand.
