Masons Antiques has dated this piece to the 1880s.
This is a beautiful example in a nicely figured, well polished , oak case which has glazed side inspection doors, key operated inspection door to the base, and a glazed window to the lower half of the case through which the pendulum can be seen working.
The 12" white painted dial has black Roman numerals and nicely cut hands. It has a silvered site ring and brass bezel.
The 8 day, twin, chain driven fusee movement strikes the hours on a bell with a lovely crisp tone.
A very special clock.
