Description

A handsome longcase clock with painted moon dial. The dial is signed for William Scott, there is no place name however it has a Scottish look about it so possibly William Scott from Breath, Scotland. He worked there from 1790 to 1810. The case is in very nicely figured mahogany and it is a lovely colour.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a very attractive dial displaying the phases of the moon to the arch (not connected)

The case is in good original, unrestored condition. The movement is running well and keeping good time but unfortunately the mechanism to rotate the moon dial is missing.
