Classic Wall Clock from Southend-on-sea

19th century
Description

This is a very good example of the classic 12" dial wall timepiece. The dial is the original and has a truly wonderful patina, showing age related crazing and the makers name C.H.Eve of Southend. This clock has a substantial 'fusee' movement which has been completely dismantled and overhauled. The case has the convex lower door held with a key & the side door held with a latch. The case is constructed from Mahogany and has mellowed to a mid reddish-brown. The hands are the original blued steel and the bezel is brass and held with a latch to the left. Sold fully guaranteed.
