Its About Time has dated this piece to the 1910s.
The clock is wound through opening the rear door and using the small turn-key. The hallmarks indicate Asprey & Co of London. Asprey was originally founded in 1781 by William Asprey and has remained a fashionable store for unique gifts. This example with gold details is highly unusual and a very nice find! The case has tiny hair line at the top right rear corner which only shows under close inspection. The clock will run for a week on a wind and carries our 24month guarantee.
