Description

An absolutely beautiful little Scottish longcase clock by George Dobbie of Falkirk. He is listed working there during the late 18th and early 19th Cent. Unusually this clock is numbered on the name disc (569)

The lovely quality case is in well figured mahogany with some rosewood cross banding to the trunk door. The case is all original and has had no restoration.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a most attractive gilt and silvered dial. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and date window. The detail in the movement is outstanding, I am always amazed at the detail that in normal circumstances the owner would never see.

The case is in excellent condition and a lovely colour. The movement is nice and clean, running well and keeping good time.
